What I'm Thankful For

I mentioned yesterday that today I would post what I'm grateful for...so in popular list format and without further ado; here is my list:

   1. God: without His love and mercy, I would be unable to post this blog today. I would find nothing positive about my cancer and I would have given up a long time ago.

   2. My Children: they are the reasons I breathe. They make it possible for me to laugh and to let go of everything even if it is for just a moment.

   3. My husband: he is truly an amazing testimony to the meaning of a caregiver and best friend. He and I have been destined to be together since we first met. I love him dearly.

   4. My Mom: she is my rock and my soft place to land. She doesn't let a day go by without calling me to check on me throughout the day. She is my everything.  I love her to the moon and back and back again.

5. My Dad: we have had a rather estranged relationship for the past ten years. My cancer brought us closer together and I am truly grateful for having him back in my life. I hope he will always remain a part of my life for the time I have left.

   6. My Brother: now, it seems as though we are inseparable. I talk to him and my sister-in-law all of the time now. He is a huge part of my life now and that means everything to me.

   7. My Family: I have been raised to always have a huge love for my family. I have a huge family that loves and cares for me very much...and I would do anything for them.

   8. My Friends: I have more friends now than I ever have had in the past. It is their kind words and conversations that have helped me tremendously in my journey. I love you all.

   9. My Dog: her companionship has made all the difference in the world when it comes to my healing. She knows when I am sick and will even help me get up our of the bed. She keeps me company on the nights when my husband has to work. She is my best friend...and I don't know what I'd do without her.

  10. Clean Air: I really don't think this requires any further explanation when you have lung cancer.

  11. My House

  12. Birds Chirping in the Morning

  13. Coffee

  14. Sweet Tea

  15. Teaching My Kids

  16. My Team of Amazing Doctors

  17. Charlie and Lola

  18. My Ability to Write

  19. My Big Heart

  20. Sunrises and Sunsets

  21. Life...Being Alive

There are so many other things I am truly grateful and blessed for. I could go on and on but then this blog would be extraordinarily long.

I have been trying to rest as much as possible today because my pneumonia has really kicked my ass. I think it is starting to get somewhat better besides the incessant wheezing I have and the high fever. My cough has subsided some.

This is a week of Thanksgiving but we should be thankful all times of the year. I hope you all have a truly blessed and amazing Thanksgiving. What are some things you are grateful for?

I love you all...mean it! May God continue to bless you and hold you tightly in His loving arms.
