I have been laying around today trying to get over my Pneumonia. I have been more tired than usual. Between the surgery and the Pneumonia, I am simply exhausted. My day has pretty much consisted of pajama's and Investigation Discovery.
I want to post something a little different today. I want to post some odds I found quite fascinating:
For every 10,000 kids in the U.S., 1 or 2 will be diagnosed each year with cancer. That's a 0.01%-0.02% chance.
About 2 out of 10,000 people in the U.S., will be diagnosed with lung cancer before the age of 40. That's a 0.02% chance.
Those odds are pretty insane! I had no idea so many people under the age of 40 got the diagnosis of lung cancer.
Do you know how many doctors believe that you cannot survive Stage IV cancer? There are many people that believe patients that are Stage IV are not really worth the trouble and sent home to die. Fortunately, there are amazing hospitals with amazing doctors and scientists that dare to dream and beat all of the odds. I'm talking about the handful who choose not to give up on us, even when the odds of living life with Stage IV Lung Cancer are pretty much non-existent (1% chance). There are the rockstar doctors (Cancer Treatment Centers of America, UT Southwestern, Baylor, MD Anderson) that face hopeless situations with the crazy belief that these people are worth fighting for. They believe that with enough work, seemingly impossible things just might come true. And even if they don't, they will continue to try their damndest to find a solution. Atticus Finch from "To Kill a Mockingbird" said:"You rarely win, but sometimes you do."
Well...I realize this blog wasn't as long as most are, but today, I am simply not feeling all that wonderful. I am going to post the links to the Like page and the Go Fund Me here. Please feel free to share both links and if you can donate, God Bless You! I am bound and determined to get to Tulsa and live a long life because of the people at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. I am worth it! My kids are worth it! They deserve mommy to be around to see them grow up. So, please, if you can donate...we would be so appreciative to you! We love you all!!!

Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.
